Rock and Pillar

The Rock and  Pillar Range looks over the small Otago town of Middlemarch, that Richard Emerson calls home. Here, locals know Richard to be both a pillar of the community, and a rock. Or at least that’s what he thinks they mean by ‘pillock’. Whatever they may say, his house is always a popular spot for a beer. And this dark ale will be perfect for a bone-chilling Strath Taieri night. Rock & Pillar sits somewhere between a brown porter and a stout, robust with rich malt, roasted cocoa, dark chocolate and coffee flavours that are as bittersweet as the local sense of humour.
